Leading the Revolution

The Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Health System is known throughout the world for surgical excellence and innovation. Patients come to us for prostate care from every continent, including Antarctica, all 50 states and over 25 countries. Dr. Menon has performed almost 3,000 Vattikuti Institute Prostatectomies (VIP), making him the most experienced minimally invasive surgeon in the country.

The Finest Patient Care

Robotic surgery significantly reduces the recurrence of cancer because of dramatically increased precision and dexterity. But even more important, is the impact on lifestyle. Men who undergo the robotic procedure have a drastically reduced incidence of impotence and incontinence. Not only do our patients return to active and healthy lives, but they do so in days, as opposed to weeks with traditional surgery.

Reaching beyond the Ordinary

Dr. Menon is now taking robotic surgery to the next level. Now that minimally invasive computer aided techniques have been proven successful in prostate patients, Dr. Menon envisions expanding this revolutionary technique to other medical disciplines. Henry Ford has plans to establish a Center for Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery which will explore the use of robotics in treating brain cancer, kidney disease, heart and vascular disease, and gynecology/oncology disorders, to name a few.

The Power of Giving

Your gift could support the robotic program, and with it, advanced training and research. Other contributions might establish fellowship programs where Henry Ford could train surgeons from throughout the world, enabling them to bring Dr. Menon's surgical methods back to their respective hospital systems.

At the Forefront

We intend to continue our leadership role through innovation, discovery and education. Our friends make this a reality and our patients benefit from the world's finest surgical care.
